We tried the green onion pancake tonight, this time specifying NO seafood! We had a chicken strip meal kinda deal, a green onion pancake, and a coke. It was not all we'd hoped and dreamed, although at least there wasn't any octopus!!!
When unsure of a language, writing it down and showing the waiter is a surefire fallback! I wrote it at work, then we tried it out on the waiter. He was very relieved to see that we were prepared tonight, since the last one was a total failure!

So do you actually write down those characters? Pen and paper, or type them on a computer and print them? I hear if you write them in the wrong order you get a completely different character.

I was soo confused (make that overwhelmed!) when THE BOOK tells me AND what you show as "writing", that Korean syllables are written in a "box" formation - and even more confusing to me is that each has the same relative size as its neighbor, no matter the complexity! AWKK! Looks like you are working it out though!
